We stayed with family for a long weekend , the properties were showing unavailable , but we contacted Mel and she kindly let us stay . The swimming pool and hot tub had been closed down but we were happy to come to Cornwall to relax and walk by the sea. The cottage and barn were perfect for us , so quiet and secluded but near enough to Fowey and the beaches for us to enjoy nice lunches and long walks. We had a really lovely stay Mel was a great host .. we are already booked for 2025 . Amazing place

What a gem of a place , our first experience of Air B and B and we were not disappointed . These 2 properties were perfect for us , we are a family that likes to explore , the cottage and barn are situated rurally but also near A roads that are only 10 minutes away if you want to visit Newquay and beaches on the North Coast. Coming back in the evening for a swim and a soak in the hot tub were spectacular the rolling countryside views and quiet surroundings were superb. We were so happy to find this place . A family holiday for myself and my 2 grown up girls , a beautiful place to stay we relaxed by the pool , and enjoyed the Bbq and surrounding views , the property is relaxing and quiet. Mel is a very relaxed host , the properties them selves are immaculately kept , beautiful home furnishings , comfortable beds , we loved the dark skies and owls hooting in the evenings. My family and I had a great stay at Mel's wonderful home. It was exactly what we wanted , secluded but in reach of multiple harbours and beaches lots to do. Both lets were superbly decorated and packed with everything needed for a break away , including goodies on arrival . The pool and hot tub are fab and used a lot during our stay. Everything was kept to a high standard definitely 5 star . We have had such a good time we are already planning our next years holiday here. Thanks Mel

Just returned from a fantastic week at Old Windmill Cottage and Barn, we all had such a wonderful time. Melanie was the perfect host, she was so friendly, accommodating and had lots of useful suggestions throughout our stay. Both the Barn and the Cottage are very well appointed, the pool was warm and clean, the jacuzzi immaculate and the games room wàs great fun. The views are incredible and the very quiet and rural location was great for exploring both North and South beaches / towns. Thank you, Melanie. We hope to be back.

Had an amazing week. The accommodation is beautiful and Mel thinks of absolutely everything for her guests. The welcome gifts are amazing and the best quality. Great accommodation with a fantastic host. If you are looking for a five star accommodation in beautiful settings this is perfect. The dogs too loved running around in the beautiful garden. It is exactly as the description and pictures if not better. Perfect family holiday accommodation.

Melanies beautiful cottage and barn is an absolute gem of a find we couldn't recommend this accommodation and gorgeous surroundings enough. Melanie and her family are super hosts and made us fee so welcome and relaxed. The accommodation was more than perfect for our family , the cottage and barn and the views were stunning so picturesque the heated pool and games room and a total brilliant bonus. We didn't want to leave and explore , and as there was availability we stayed on an extra 2 nights , we will be visiting again . Thanks Mel x

Thank you so much to Melanie for an amazing stay. The stunning surroundings the fizz , the scones the welcome nite all the treats we were blessed. The sunshine was beautiful a sun trap we spent most of our time by the pool and in the hot tub , BBQ's in the evening overlooking miles of countryside with cows mooing. The kids loved the pool and got to meet all Melanies animals to tortoises and turtles and fish were a bonus. There are plenty of great beaches just s a short drive away , Charlestown and Fowey . Melanie is such a lovely host , cant wait to visit again .. 5 stars *****

Wow ! what a little slice of heaven Windmill Cottage & Barn is . We were blessed with good weather , it was really the most wonderful peaceful place to relax . Great location for beaches and exploring . We made so much use of the pool and amazing hot tub over looking the countryside . The gardens are exceptional beautifully kept our doggies loved it , the enclosed patio was perfect . The cottage and barn so stylishly decorated to such a high standard , everything you could need , pink fizz , homemade scones biscuits were delicious. mel was a wonderful host so helpful and friendly. Thanks so much mel we have made lovely memories and would like to return.

Great location to explore Cornwall. Property very isolated and private , was well furnished and like home from home . Mel was fantastic and a great host , always on hand when needed for anything. The pool and hot tub are nice touches to com back too after a day of exploring > If not one for exploring the properties are excellent for relaxing in the sun. We had a few April showers but used the games room . If visiting Cornwall again we will be back

We found Windmill Cottage on google , the perfect weekend stay near a friends wedding in Looe. Both properties stunning and the gardens are beautiful , we enjoyed a short break away here , enjoying the evenings and sunsets and owls tooting at night , a far cry from our city living. It really is a peaceful spot , ideal for us as we just wanted to chill and re coup . Cant speak more highly of Mels property and her help. Defo recommend

We are a family of 5 ( plus one small dog ) and have stayed at the cottage and barn twice. On both occasions our stay was incredible. The facilities of both the barn and cottage are of a very high standard and Mel is a wonderful host . The pool , hot tub and garden are also wonderful . I would recommend having a car whilst staying at this property , as there are many beautiful locations to visit in the nearby area.

We saw Old Windmill Cottage on social media , loved the look of it and contacted Mel . She was so helpful and responsive we immediately booked for our family of 4. We arrived and our expectations were exceeded. The drive up to the property and the gardens were larger than we thought the swimming pool area and the ponds were lovely , needeless to say the inside of the cottage and barn were also amazing , the goodies on arrival the decor , the white bedding all very thoughtful and stylish. We have been to Cornwall many times because there is so much to do , the Cottage was lovely and rural , quiet and peaceful just what you need after a busy day at the beach , the beaches no distance at all .. just a hop on the A30. We are so pleased we found this beautiful place to stay ad have recommended to everyone we know. Thx Mel We will be back for sure

We had such a lovely welcome break , even in October the weather was super we laid by the pool , enjoyed the garden and views , and on the days we could be bothered to leave the property Fowey and The Heligan Gardens were just minutes away , its been a while since we have been to Cornwall but we were so delighted with the immaculate properties the outdoor space in the gardens and the 5 star facilities , Melanie maintains everything so well . We will recommend to friends and family and return asap. We cant fault Old Windmill Cottage and Barn. Thank you

We booked through Air B and B but wish we had booked direct , absolutely amazing place ( for us at least ) Kids enjoyed endless fun in the pool and hot tub . Super views , great looked after garden . Very private and secluded . Melanie very responsive and extremely helpful. Fantastic welcome package. On top of that many of Cornwall's main attractions literally minutes away . The perfect spot for relaxation for myself and friends , we cannot believe we found you on Goggle what a find .. we are the lucky ones as i believe you get booked up early on. The place is stunning the gardeners , pool men and Mel were all busy working when we arrived the attention to detail is 5 star in every way , Mel really does make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Excellent value for money we had the place to ourselves , no rushing down to the pool in the morning with towels . Highly recommend Thanks Melanie we will return

Melanie was there to welcome us on arrival , our expectations were exceeded when we saw the gardens , remote , quite beautiful views , The cottage and barn exceptional every detail thought out . We needed for nothing , Mel joined us one evening for a drink on the patio , fascinating old pictures of what it looked like when she purchased it , a transformation to the highest level . We enjoyed the privacy even though Melanie and son live in the main house we had the place to ourselves . Trips to Fowey just 10 mins away , Eden and Bodmin jail . A great holiday in Cornwall will recommend to everyone

Just on the way back from a lovely week and didnt want to leave . Despite the weather not being great we still had a really good time. The location is great and we managed to visit loads of places . Mel was welcoming and there to greet us when we arrived. The barn and cottage were both beautiful and we enjoyed the little treats. The hot tub was ready to go , the swimming pool was a great size. We were very impressed. Unfortunately we didn't always have great weather but that did not stop us enjoying the facilities. Beautiful gardens and koi and turtle ponds. Very tranquil and relaxing. Wi fi in both properties which the kids were happy about. Location wise we felt we were quite central. The properties and comfortable , cosy , well equipped and relaxing. We would love to come back and are missing it already. THX MEL

We have stayed in many Air B & B's and have always been apprehensive and a little disappointed , this property however far exceeded expectations and we were so blown away with how immaculate and pretty everything was. Driving up and seeing the lawned garden and pool house , was amazing everything looked so looked after and new. The cottage and barn are decorated to a very high standard and catered for all our needs , all kitchen equipment is supplied along with lovely welcome gifts on our arrival , homemade scones were delicious. We have had an amazing time and will book direct with Mel next time to avoid the booking agents fees. Every member of our group has written a google review as we were all so happy. I will be recommending this idylic place and will book again . Thank you Mel for being a super duper host

Melanie was a fantastic host and Old Windmill Cottage and Barn just stunning. Communication was excellent the little treats Mel leaves for her guests arrival makes you feel so special . Mel was also kind enough to let us use her washing machine as beach goers we would have struggled without it. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and it was the best balance between chill and activity, with lots to see and do locally. Ceasar the dog os also just adorable too. Thx Guys we will be back x

We stayed at the barn and cottage with 2 friends , not been to Cornwall in a long time ,, its beautiful. 1st impressions of the property was wow , we are going to relax and have a great time and we really did. The pool and loungers , gardens in the sun were so relaxing. We visited The Eden project and a few other sites but actually enjoyed staying at the house more as we just wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet.

5 star ***** It was a lovely stay the facilities thought out down to every detail. The facilities themselves are great , love a rainfall shower . The jacuzzi and built in sound system is relaxing. I like that although the owners live on site , you can make your stay either a relaxing retreat or party holiday.

Great short stay , Mel made us very welcome and was extremely helpful.
The family really enjoyed the hot tub and the huge garden was great for the dogs. We had access to great dog walks and local pub.
Fowey a 15 minute drive away and we visited polzeath for a surf.

A welcome short break whist visiting family in Cornwall , we couldn't have stayed in a more beautiful place we were lucky with the weather a few sunny days made our visit the perfect short break.
The pool was closed and we did not need the jacuzzi but the cottage is so comfortable and cosy we were happy just to relax in the evenings with a glass of wine looking at the views.
Even in the winter this holiday was such a pleasure , we can only imagine how brilliant it would be in he warmer months.

Wow what a find for our quiet New Year celebrations just the 2 of us in the countryside , the perfect haven for us old men :) .. Our dog buster loved the walks in the surrounding countryside and on the empty beaches. We found some amazing restaurants no more than 10 minutes away , a huge choice of luxury places to eat , we love good food and were not disappointed. The cottage was decorated beautifully , warm cosy and inviting after long walks. We did not use the Hot Tub but it was a nice feature had we wanted too. Mel as a host is wonderful , such fun ... Hiccups on New Years Eve ;) We will be back in the summer to enjoy the pool. Perfect stay. Highly recommend.

We had a relaxing stay at the cottage and barn , our son loved the pool , games room , turtles and Caesar the dog . Lots of goodies on arrival beautifully decorated to a very high standard , the kitchen had everything you needed and more . We went to many local cafes , beaches kayaking , snorkelling and cycling at Lanhydrock everything within 25 minute drive or closer. A real hidden gem with gated security for cars and lights in the garden at night making the evenings really pretty

An absolutely outstanding place to stay set in 2 acres of countryside with rolling views , tranquil walks and a patio to sit out on in the evening with a BBQ over looking the lit pool. Mel is a lovely host happy to assit with anything. Our lovely 2 week holiday has come to and end our 2nd visit in 2 years. We found this amazing place last year in 2021 and booked again immediately for 2022. The peace and quiet , the beautifully maintained gardens , pool and properties are 5 * , laying by the pool or going out exploring you have the best of both worlds. Mel as a host is lovely attentive but respectful of space. The extras on arrival are lovely touch , the homemade cornish scones , drinks and welcome card make this a really special place. Dog friendly with large enclosed gardens. Great places to eat within a 10 minute drive and a great local pub within walking distance. Thanks Mel we are looking forward to next year :)

Wow we have had such a brilliant time , what a place its so much bigger than the photographs the properties are stunning . The gardens are beautiful with long reaching views. We really fell on our feet staying here so happy with every aspect , we loved the pool and jacuzzi . You feel like you are the only ones here even with Mel living on site , the gardens are so quiet. A super find in a beautiful location , spacious and serene.
The driveway large enough for 2 cars the gardens are lovely with far reaching views across the countryside , sadly it was too chilly to use the swimming pool but we braved the Hot Tub which was lovely in the winter sun.
Mel was extremely attentive and really helpful with ideas of where to eat and what to see.
We had the best time and will return , would recommend to everyone

What a stunning location! Mel and Lawrie have renovated the Cottage and Barn both sympathetically & to an impeccable standard. Decor beautiful throughout and little welcome touches both appreciated and delicious! The pool, hot tub, games room and verandas overlook the valley and provide solace and entertainment at the end of the day. The accommodation is very comfortable & extremely clean. All Covid precautions and restrictions are closely observed and followed Local walks, restaurants, Eden Project and Cornish fishing villages all within easy car journeys. Wish we had managed to book a whole week, certainly shall next time! 5* all round

Amazing barn and cottage in a really lovely quiet and serene location . Both beautifully furnished very comfortable and spotless , and contain everything you need and more.
The pool is heated and the hot tub is just brilliant stunning views.
We loved exploring the local area and buying local food from the surrounding Farm shops. Both hosts were brilliant and responded in super quick time.

WOW ! What a beautiful home. The barn is nothing short of stunning , the cottage tastefully decorated , beds super comfy too and immaculately clean . We used the pool and hot tub every day even in the rain so nice for it to be heated what a luxury. We loved Caesar the dog especially because we missed ours . What a beautiful place . Everything like new . Really comfy beds , just like home from home. Great BBQ outside on the patio. Superbly fast wifi an unexpected bonus. It was lovely in the evenings to sit out and lkisten to the owls , picturesque scenery. The Eden project only 20 minutes away but our favourite was charlestown, cycling the Camel Trail in Padstow too. National trust properties close by and a great fam shop PUDDLE FArm crafts and local organic produce. Mel and lawrence great hosts always available for info , but discreet and did not disturb . The facilities including private swimming pool and jacuzzi and large garden exceptional . The view from the patio is beautiful . Various tourist sites and beaches are within a short drive . we would without a doubt recommend this property to enjoy Cornwall.

i cannot recommend this highly enough . The accommodation facilities and hosting make this one of the best places to stay. The pictures do not do it justice , what a special gem _ the pool , jacuzzi and pool room gave us so much to do day and night. Bothe the barn and cottage were stunning , immaculately clean and well equipped and beautifully decorated. Mel and Lawrie exceptional hosts . Amzing response times of anything was needed but kept a distance for our enjoyment too. We will not hesitate to come back again and would of extended our stay if we could have.

Best trip to Cornwall !!! Hosts couldn't have made it easier . You will need a car to stay but everywhere isn"t far around . Our 1st experience with Air B & B and it could not have been better . All the added extras just perfect.

Wow wow wow this place is a little slice of paradise and the best Air B & B Ive stayed in. The pool , hot tub and games room amazing set in the most beautiful grounds with unreal views. Very sleek , sparkling clean and modern Mel and Lawrie had thought of all the finishing touches , we wanted for absolutely nothing and they were the perfect hosts. I cant wait to come back and Zen out in this absolute gem of a home. 15 minutes by car to the harbour towns and diners £20 for a 6 seater taxi. If your thinking of booking just DO IT you will not regret it .. Thank you for a great stay

So when Mel says you need a car to stay , you need a car to stay. Up some narrow winding roads to get there but when you do it will be well worth it. The views are amazing the accommodation is exceptional with comfy beds underfloor heating and games to play should you be stuck inside on a wet windy day. The pool was closed as we were informed on booking due to winter months but i can imagine chilling around in it in the hot weather and you have access to the snooker room too. Mel and Lawrie are very accommodating and friendly , helpful and thoughtful. This was my first Air B and B experience and the bar has been set very high . Highly recommend and hope to venture back to this hidden gem.

The cottage is nothing short of supherb it is similar to anything you would see in a lifestyle magazine only better. The surroundings are visually stunning and tranquil. Absolutely love this place. We’ve travelled a lot and have stayed in many cottages but none as fabulous as this one. The owners are now friends and we’ve returned many times. The cottage is also immaculate on arrival with high quality furnishings. It’s so comfortable you won’t want to leave, we don’t. The views are stunning and it’s a fabulous location to get to all the great spots in Cornwall. Highly recommended.

Windmill Cottage is a fab retreat for anyone wanting to have peace and quiet but also want to be in striking distance of towns, pubs and restaurants. Just home after an amazing week in Cornwall, made all the more special by this beautiful stylish cottage ! The location is ideal for exploring all areas of the Duchy. The cottage has everything you need, and the pool was very welcoming after a day out. The hosts (including Ceasar the boxer) were everything you could ask for, so friendly and welcoming. The only thing we regret is that we only booked it for a week, we will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful time !

Great cottage. Friendly hosts that are not intrusive. I just love Cornwall and this place was perfect to relax after a day out walking. The garden is fully fenced in so I was perfect for dog to run around in. And the cottage has a small gated area to itself on top of that for dog to get outside when he wants. Roads in are a little tight but this is what most rural roads are like in Cornwall. Found an app called iWalk Cornwall which really we enjoyed, provided so many good walks in all areas.Property was perfect 5 *

Windmill Cottage is in an idyllic setting, within a large garden, use of a swimming pool and spectacular views. It is immaculately furnished, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds! The owners are very friendly and hospitable and on hand if you have any questions. Good location for exploring south and north Cornwall. We definitely recommend this cottage.
